SATURN ENTERED THE PLUTO-RULED, INTENSE, SECRETIVE SIGN OF SCORPIO ON OCTOBER 5, 2012. TIME TO DO SOME PURGING. CLEAN UP YOUR FINANCIAL MATTERS, AND GET YOUR LIFE ON MORE OF A SERIOUS TRACK.
Saturn will occupy the sign of Scorpio from October 5, 2012 to December 23, 2014; and then finishes up its transit from June 14, 2015 to September 17, 2015.
Saturn takes about 28-29 years to come full circle, and thus spends on average close to 2-1/2 years in a sign.
Saturn transits and cycles can be considered cycles of achievement and maturity. When Saturn forms a hard aspect to a personal point in our chart, we might feel that everything is at a standstill–we encounter delays, frustrations, and pressures. But these times also “force” us to face reality, thereby opening ourselves up to insight, awareness and increased wisdon.
Significant decisions are often made during Saturn’s hard transits to our personal planets. These transits slow life down (or at least, that is how we perceive it) and force us to live our lives in the present. Although Saturn transits can make life feel like a drudgery (these are often times when our lives seem to move at a snail’s pace and advancements are hard to see), they also give us the opportunity to gain inner strength, to become more responsible for what we do and say, and to cut out waste or excesses in our lives. Basically, what happens is a form of paring or slimming down in the area of life affected by Saturn. We are getting rid of things in our lives that are not working for us in the real world, and focusing on improving and strengthening the things that do serve a useful purpose.
Saturn transits teach us to take responsibility for ourselves. At the outset of a Saturn transit, we might feel like the world is a cold place. If we are mature, we will at some point come to the realization that we cannot always pass blame for the problems in our lives. We need to reach within and pull out our own inner strength — to rely on ourselves.
What does Scorpio rule? It rules sex, death, the elderly, rebirth, debts, losses, taxes, investments, legacies, inheritances, stocks, bonds, joint finances, the police, security, surgeries, secrets, obsessions, psychotherapy and that which is unseen and hidden.
During Saturn in Scorpio, we’ll see a huge focus on taxes: how much to pay, who should pay it, what is fair and what is not. Governments will want to change the tax structures completely in the name of fairness but there are likely to be hidden agendas. Saturn in Scorpio tends to favor a conservative position, so it’s likely there will be more cuts to public services
As Saturn transits Scorpio, we all will feel this energy in a part of our charts – and lives. Saturn is contraction so there will be contraction of money given to us, especially where there is emotional connection attached. The last transit of Saturn through Scorpio was December 1982 to November 1985 (it went retrograde in Libra during that time).
At minimum, I’m speculating that lending will contract even more than it has today. And when someone gives you money, expect a good return. Lenders will want to know more about you than ever – and not just your financial history. Saturn in Scorpio is just another three-year mini-message about a larger message as the world rebuilds its economies. Now Saturn in Scorpio will ask, “If I take your money (for work or whatever), what do I really owe you?” The other side says, “If I lend you money or resources, I want more than a material payback. I want you to share my values and truly care about me.”
Saturn in Scorpio ill affect all of, specifically those between the ages of 27-30, and 57 – 60. Also, those born under the sign of Taurus, Leo, Aquarius and Scorpio are maily affected, however much depends of how it is aspected in our own charts.
